VIC: Government releases FOI ambulance contract documents

MELBOURNE, Feb 26 AAP - The Victorian government said today it would release documents
about controversial ambulance contracts, after earlier contesting an opposition freedom of
information claim.

Health Minister Rob Knowles said the decision followed legal advice by senior barrister
Julian Birnside QC, advising the government against mounting legal claims to recover public
money lost on fees paid to consultants by the Metropolitan Ambulance Service (MAS).
